Doors Showcase in London exhibits from 24th of February until 24 of March, “There’s no such thing as perfect, but there’s perfection in the things we love” by photographer and film maker Toyin Ibidapo. In her first solo show Toyin Ibidapo will be exhibiting a selection of her work from her 15 year career as a photographer. Images of her‘Cult of Boys’ book will be part integrant of the exhibition.
Toyin Ibidapo’s fascinating ‘Cult of Boys’ book is one artist’s tribute to androgynous tomboys. A professional photographer since 1997, for clients such as Dazed & Confused and Alexander McQueen, Ibidapo records her subjects over time in her own home. Each subject is a friend, a model or an artist who collaborates in the creative process, resulting in intimate, real and delicate portraits with a sincerity often missing from images of the young and beautiful. These spellbinding photographs capture the raw vulnerability of adolescence.
